Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress best recognized for her roles in films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue l. Ellis is the American producer and actress who has worked in theater as well as television and film productions well, is present in both the film and theater screen. Her career began acting in the theatre and then went on to be a part of numerous television shows, both mainstream and independent films. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as in BET's epic show The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she was praised by critics and received a variety of nominations and awards including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. In 1995, she made her debut as Ariel on the stage as Ariel in The Tempest. Stage credits are Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. Coming to her movie career she is renowned for her roles in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. On television her regular role on ABC's drama series about police High Incident has earned her praises.
